Strategic renewal

Strategic renewal

Strategic renewal is your organizations’ capability to keep up when conditions change. If we succeed, people do the right things the right way so that your organization is good what it needs to be good at to be relevant. Sounds simple, but it’s not easy!

Three main benefits of having the capability of strategic renewal:

  1. Continous exploring and learning

  2. Continuous change and adaptation

  3. Continuous re-inventing and innovation

Our method

Todays methods for change, change management and strategy implementation are outdated. They were invented in a time when the speed of change was lower and the requirements companies experiences was much less complex.

To achieve strategic renewal, new methods are needed. This is a summary of our method. We have created it ourselves, based on research within fields such as social change, social marketing, adoption, diffusion and complexity theory.

Three pillars:

Adoption - Change that sticks

Adoption is a human first approach to changing behaviours and introducing new practices in organizations.

Diffusion - Change that spreads.

Diffusion is a methodic approach to spreading new behaviours and practices organically between people and contexts in organizations.

ChangeLab - Coordinated experimenting and exploring

ChangeLab is a method and an organizational unit that coordinates change agents, experimenting, learning, governance, and communication in large scale change initiatives and throughout continuous change.

How it works

Our method is based on there activities that are iterated continuously and in parallell in different contexts. The process is coordinated with the rest of the organization and other initiatives that influences the change.

1 Understand

We seek to understand the context that should be changed, answering the question “What do people really do with their time and why do they do as they do?”. We use qualitative research and sensemaking to do this.

2 Conceptualise

The new found understanding is concretized to alternative paths and solutions and we ask our selves “What path do we want to explore first?”. This goes for big as well as for small: strategic decisions, new ways of working, problems in a single team or the design of a blueprint for a formal change.

3 Experiment

How do we know the chosen path leads towards the strategic ambition? We try it out! And we do it in the form of small, time boxed, limited and parallell experiments among to make progress and create learning and new insights. Every experiment makes the change smarter, and the next experiment more impactful than the one before it.

Coordinate

A change process that is experimenting, exploring and learning can still be methodic, systematic and koordinaten. ChangeLab takes care of the coordination of experimenting, change agents, learning, governance, communication and formal initiatives.

Our services

Change strategy

When you don’t know how to start your renewal journey, a change strategy fills the gap between “Where are we going?” and “How do we get there?” without cluttering the view with falsely specific answers. Typically it contains: strategic direction, capabilities and behaviours, insights about conditions for change and recommendations for adoption, diffusion and experiments to start with.
